You Are Not Defined By Your Past

2 Corinthians 5:17-18, “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!”

What a refreshing word! In my daily bible reading this morning, I was studying Paul’s conversion. Paul is a great example of what salvation looks like. Paul a man of the law, who became a man of grace. What I appreciate the most about Paul is his transparency. I have witnessed people come to Christ and hide their past. The testimony of their conversion is a beautiful gift, a gift meant to be shared. One of my favorite quotes is, “Every saint has a past, and every sinner a future,” author unknown. We are all in this together. In need of the saving grace of Jesus. It hurts more than helps to hide what we are ashamed of. Paul reminds us in this scripture that we are not defined by our past. We are a new creation! It then, becomes, up to us what we choose to do with that grace.

Faith Is Taking Belief To The Next Level

May 23rd

2 Corinthians 4:16-18, “Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary but what is unseen is eternal.”

What an encouraging scripture. Faith is taking your belief to the next level. Faith is an action. Expecting Jesus to come through for you is faith. As people of faith we turn to the scriptures for the truth. We fix our eyes on Jesus and hold onto what we believe. The world might be falling apart around us, we cling to the hope of Jesus that He will indeed get us to the other side. If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it. #faith
