Luke 5:4-7, “When he(Jesus) had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into the deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.” Simon answered, “Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets.” When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break. So they signaled their partners in the other boat to come and help them, and they came and filled both boats so full that they began to sink.”
Having faith is hard, sometimes exhausting. When I am believing God for something I put my everything into it. I am mentally fixed and physically my posture is standing on God’s word. God’s timing is not our timing. There are several examples of God’s faithfulness after many, many years. Abraham, waited 14 years on His promised son. Are you waiting on something? Did God promise you breakthrough and your faith is waning? I have been there. I have been expecting God for a few things for as long as Abraham and ready to see it in the flesh. I have battled discouragement. I have questioned, will it really happen? Did I hear God at all? If that is where you are today, stick it out. God is faithful. His word will never return void. He is not a man that He should lie. God’s timing is always on time. He plants those seed promises to keep us afloat in rough waters. Be ready when He yells out, “Cast your net again!” In our verse the disciples had been fishing all day. They were tired and ready to come in feeling defeated. Jesus tells them to go out again into the deep. Simon shares his defeat yet, in obedience does as Jesus prompts. Simon reaped a full reward for following His lead. Do not miss your blessing! Be ready to cast your net again whenever He bids.
